Insidious
The films Insidious and Insidious 2 both include another world which is shown through mise en scene.
An example of this is the smoke used in this scene to give an innocent looking child's room and eery and spooky feel to fit in with the horror genre and give a sense of foreboding that something might be going to happen.
Another way the other world is shown to be different from the human world is through the editing of a scene.
This uses the connotations of red to create a sense of danger and fear for the audience.
The cinematography of this scene also creates fear through the rule of thirds. This is because the boy in the bed is the main focus of the frame, as he is in the middle third, and the devil appears in the left thirds with the main light source between the two. This attracts the audiences attention to how close the demon is to the boy.
