The Conjuring Title sequence research.

The Conjuring (2013) — Art of the Title

This is the title sequence from the Conjuring, you can tell that the film is going to be about something that happened in the past as the images from the title sequence look very old and they're also in black and white. There are also things like black ink smudges on the photos which also make them look old. In the title sequence there are also some newspaper articles with titles like 'Haunted Artifacts Museum' which suggest that the film is going to be about some sort of unwanted presence. I like this title sequence as it is really sinister and creepy looking and fits the films story line really well.

In this shot the lighting is very dark and unclear, you are able to see graves, this suggests that the film is related to death. This gives an idea to the audience that the genre of the film is going to be some sort of thriller/horror.

This shot of the looks very sinister. It is the final shot of the title sequence. The lighting is again very dark, and is also in black and white, this could suggest that it is set in the past, or that the past plays a part in the film. This image is also disturbing as it has a rope hanging from a tree, suggesting that someone has hung themselves or is about to. This shot also sets the scene of the film.
